(27) Confetti Bars

It's been raining here since yesterday & my kids are going WILD! I thought it would be a good day to make this recipe my girlfriend Wendy gave me for:

CONFETTI BARS

Preheat oven to 350F.

Gather some kids....preferably still in their jammies, tops optional....to crush your graham crackers (gluten free, in our case)...or you can use crumbs.

Mix 2 cups Graham crumbs with 1/2 cup melted butter.

Press into a 9x13 pan.

Make sure to taste it....

Pour:
1 cup chopped pecans

1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup M&M's

1 cup coconut

1 can condensed milk

"evenly" (good luck with that, employing children!) in layers over the crumbs.

Bake for 20 min.

Cool.

Cut into bars. (Or, in our case, if you can't wait....put into bowls & eat with a spoon!!)

These are seriously good.....teeth hurtingly sweet though....beware!

Thanks Wen!

I'm linking this to Communal Global's "Tuesdays Around the World".

Looks yummy! Kind of like the magic bars I used to make as a kid. Only these are much more colourful. Thanks for the recipe.

This is so funny and lovely. What a great way to get your kids interested.
Our son was ( and probably will be again later in life, so I'm told) suffering with coeliac. He grew out of it because of strict adherence to glutenfree, and on his fifth birthday he didn't have cake, but a 'proper' sandwich. I can still see his face.
I had it myself, but they never knew what it was at that time. I just remember the pain. It is bad. So forgive them if they are cranky.

Instead of icecream I used to make our son frozen banana on a stick. It got so popular that I found neighbourhood kids raiding our freezer :-)
